Romania’s main aviation gateway, Henri Coandă International Airport (LROP), has received a new custom rendition for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. Created by rekinowy, this scenery covers the country’s largest and busiest airport, located in Otopeni, 16 kilometers north of central Bucharest. The airport handles both passenger and cargo operations and serves as a major hub for Romanian carriers as well as numerous international airlines.
This is the developer’s first scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, though it is also fully compatible with MSFS 2024. The project aims to reflect the airport’s real-world configuration as of December 2025, offering an updated and realistic airside environment for those flying into the Romanian capital. While the developer notes that minor bugs or inaccuracies may remain, the scenery represents a faithful and functional recreation of the airport’s current layout.
The package includes handcrafted terminal buildings, aprons, taxiways, and other airport structures, all designed to align with the present-day airport infrastructure. It is compatible with AI traffic and is already planned to receive further updates, including custom jetways, terminal interiors, a modeled military apron, custom ground service equipment, and additional handcrafted details to expand the visual depth and realism of the scene.
A GSX profile is also available separately, created by Likeusb, to enhance ground operations and passenger handling for those using FSDreamTeam’s GSX Pro. Installation follows the standard procedure: simply extract the downloaded files into your Community folder.
