Bucharest Otopeni Released for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

Bucharest-Henri Coandă International Airport, also known as Otopeni Airport, serves as Romania’s largest and busiest airport, located just outside the capital city of Bucharest. Originally a military airbase during World War II, it was converted into a civilian airport in 1969 to accommodate growing air traffic demands. Over the decades, the airport has undergone extensive development, including the addition of runways, modern terminals, and most recently, a revamped apron and railway connection to the city.

Barelli MSFS Addons's new LROP add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 offers a detailed and immersive recreation of Bucharest Otopeni Airport. This version has been completely redesigned to take advantage of the latest simulation technology. Updates include the newly expanded apron #2 with added parking slots, enhanced runway and apron textures, improved lighting for apron #2 and the military zone, and optimized models using Level of Detail (LOD) techniques. Additionally, the military area has been updated, and custom vehicles have been integrated.

Key Features in Version 2:

  • Fully rebuilt for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
  • Expanded and enhanced apron #2.
  • Updated terminal buildings and main infrastructure.
  • Enhanced textures for runway 08L and aprons.
  • Added lighting improvements and customized vehicles.
