Cli4D Designs has released Waterfalls of Iceland, a new scenery add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 that recreates the country’s most iconic waterfalls in high detail. The package aims to enhance one of the world’s most dramatic landscapes, combining Iceland’s unique terrain with realistic animations and natural lighting effects.
The add-on brings to life a wide selection of the nation’s most recognizable waterfalls, including Gullfoss, Dettifoss, Goðafoss, and Skógafoss. Each has been carefully modeled using custom 3D assets and PBR textures to capture their distinct characteristics — from the golden spray of Gullfoss plunging into the Hvítá canyon to the basalt columns framing Svartifoss. Animated water effects add dynamic realism, allowing you to experience Iceland’s waterfalls as living, moving elements of the terrain rather than static scenery.
Beyond visual enhancements, Cli4D Designs has improved the surrounding environment by refining river and road elevations to better match real-world topography. Ground textures have also been updated to improve the transition between volcanic terrain, vegetation, and water surfaces, helping each location blend naturally into Microsoft Flight Simulator’s world.
