Cloudberry Creations Updates London Oxford Airport

London Oxford Airport, known by its ICAO code EGTK, sits just north of the city of Oxford in the village of Kidlington. The airport has long played an important role in the UK’s general aviation landscape. It is widely recognized as a training hub where thousands of pilots have completed their early flight training. At the same time, it also supports business aviation, charter traffic, and occasional military visitors from nearby RAF Brize Norton. This mix of operations makes it a versatile destination for Microsoft Flight Simulator pilots who want a realistic regional UK airport environment.

Cloudberry Creations has recreated this airfield for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 with its London Oxford / Kidlington Airport scenery, which is designed around the airport’s updated 2025 layout. The add-on focuses on reflecting the current state of the real-world airport as it continues to expand. Major buildings have been recreated with custom models and textures, including the recently constructed Airbus hangar, the new fire station, and the developing science park near the airport. The scenery also includes updated taxiways, apron areas, and carefully placed ground markings that reflect the latest configuration.

To help bring the airport environment to life, the scenery incorporates custom ground details, vegetation, parking areas, and road markings around the field. Construction zones have also been represented to match the ongoing real-world development at Oxford Airport. Cloudberry Creations has also focused on maintaining good performance through a refined LOD system, which allows the scenery to run smoothly across a wide range of hardware setups.

The developer has released version 1.1.0, introducing a series of updates that expand the airport environment further. Taxiway lighting has been added across the Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta taxiways, which improves nighttime operations and makes the airfield easier to navigate in low visibility. The update also introduces a new large hangar in maintenance area four along with expanded apron space and updated ground markings for that section of the airport.

Additional visual improvements include new lighting for several large hangars, which enhances the atmosphere during evening and night flights. New landmarks have also been added around the airport to improve visual navigation. These include a satellite dish array north of runway 01 and a water treatment plant south of runway 19. Static aircraft have also been revised to better reflect the types used by local flying schools, further aligning the scenery with Oxford’s real-world training environment.
