Jacksonville, Florida is a frequent waypoint for coastal VFR flying in the southeastern United States, with its sprawling urban layout, river crossings, and prominent sports and commercial landmarks. While Microsoft Flight Simulator’s default scenery provides a broad representation of the city, its scale and skyline benefit from more focused detail. Dfflyer Direct aims to address this with the release of the Jacksonville, Florida City Pack for MSFS, now available and confirmed to be compatible with both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.
The add-on focuses on enhancing Jacksonville’s urban core through more than 100 handcrafted buildings, replacing generic structures with custom models that better reflect the city’s real-world appearance. The downtown skyline has been reworked with improved textures and building shapes remembering the city’s role as Florida’s most populous metropolitan area. Several bridges around the city are included to improve visual continuity when flying along the St. Johns River or approaching nearby airports at low altitude.
Among the most recognizable landmarks, EverBank Stadium receives particular attention. The stadium is recreated as a fully detailed structure, making it a clear visual reference during approaches and VFR navigation. The Wells Fargo Center also stands out as a key skyline element, with night lighting designed to remain visible after sunset flights. Night operations are further supported by custom lighting and signage throughout the city, which helps Jacksonville feel active and recognizable after dark.
The pack also adds functional helipads on the Baptist Medical Center and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, offering additional opportunities for rotorcraft operations within the city. For those already using RKBridger’s Jacksonville scenery, an alternative version without bridges is available on request to avoid duplication or conflicts.
