Feather River Canyon, a scenic and historically significant region in California, USA, has been brought to life in Microsoft Flight Simulator through a new scenery add-on created by Boulder. Known for its breathtaking landscapes and the historic Western Pacific's California Zephyr railroad running along the river, this area offers a unique flying experience, especially suited for low-level, slow-speed flight enthusiasts.

The Feather River Canyon add-on focuses on enhancing the realism of the area with updates and features inspired by the region's natural beauty and historical elements. Boulder has paid particular attention to details such as boulders and rocks along the riverbanks, various dams including PG&E’s “Stairway of Power”, bridges, aqueducts, and the riverbed, which is still undergoing improvements. Additionally, the add-on fixes missing vegetation and introduces numerous Points of Interest (POIs) to explore.

To fully experience the scenery, several world updates and object libraries are required. These include the USA, Nordic, UK/Ireland, Oceania, Iberia, Canada, Australia, and Italy World Updates, which contain crucial structures used in the add-on. Object libraries from Wookie042, rotornut44, MrMo, TheDukeNewcomb, ethnicfs, and UK2000 provide additional assets. To complement the freeware add-on, Boulder also recommends payware add-ons such as Powerlines and Solar Farms by Mamu and North America Railways Trees Clearing by Taburet.
