FlightSim Studio has released the ➡️ Super 27 Expansion Pack, an upgrade to its Boeing 727-200 series that introduces modernized engines, updated avionics, and new cockpit features. The package builds on the existing 727-200 passenger and freighter variants, bringing the aircraft into its real-world “Super 27” retrofit configuration that became popular with several airlines during the late 1980s and 1990s.
The defining change is the replacement of the classic JT8D engines with JT8D-217C pods, known for their higher thrust and distinctive clamshell thrust reversers. The expansion also introduces refined flight dynamics, updated performance to reflect the more powerful engines, and a high idle mode to improve handling characteristics during approach and taxi.
