The flight simulation community has recently welcomed the release of the Boeing 727-100 package for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024, developed by FlightSim Studio AG. This add-on introduces the original short-body variant of Boeing's iconic trijet, enhancing the existing 727-200 series with a focus on early jet operations, intricate systems, and multi-crew workflows.

The Boeing 727-100 first took to the skies in 1963 and entered commercial service in 1964. Designed to revolutionize air travel, this aircraft was pivotal in making jet operations feasible beyond major airports. Its unique trijet configuration, coupled with a high-lift wing design, allowed it to operate efficiently from shorter runways and less-equipped airports, making it a versatile choice for airlines.
The FlightSim Studio package includes three distinct variants of the Boeing 727-100:
- 727-100 Passenger Model: Designed for commercial airline operations, this variant emphasizes passenger comfort and operational efficiency.
- 727-100 Freighter: Tailored for cargo operations, this model focuses on the unique requirements of freight transport.
- Super 27-100 Passenger: An upgraded version that incorporates modern enhancements while retaining the classic charm of the original design.
The cockpit of the B727-100 is modeled to replicate the original layout, complete with a fully functional flight engineer station. This design supports authentic three-crew procedures, allowing for a realistic simulation of classic jet operations. The package also includes a comprehensive Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), which provides essential tools for load management, performance calculations, and SimBrief integration.

The B727-100 package offers multiple navigation systems to cater to various operational styles, including CIVA INS, GPS 530, GNS-XLS FMC, PMS and TDS GTN750 Integration. Features such as animated ground services, customizable night lighting, and cabin crew simulation with ambient sounds contribute to a realistic flying experience.
FlightSim Studio has consolidated the 727-100 into a single package. This means that all variants and features are included in one purchase. Additionally, existing owners of the 727-200 package are eligible for a 20% discount at the store where their original purchase was made.
The FlightSim Studio Boeing 727-100 Series is now available on the Flightsim.to Store.
