Hofkirchen Airfield (ICAO: LOLH) is a small, public-use recreational airfield situated near Hofkirchen in Upper Austria, not far from the city of Linz. Known locally as Flugplatz Hofkirchen, it serves as the base for HB-Flugtechnik, also known as HB-Aircraft Industries — a niche Austrian manufacturer specializing in light aircraft and motorgliders. The airfield operates on a Prior Permission Required (PPR) basis and is often used for flight training, sightseeing, and general aviation activities in the region, particularly due to its proximity to the Austrian Alps.

The new freeware scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator, developed by littlekrg in collaboration with Troglodytus, offers a highly detailed recreation of LOLH Hofkirchen. The airfield features a single 530-meter asphalt runway (08/26) and includes accurate ground markings, taxiways, and frequencies based on official Austrian AIP charts. The scenery also incorporates custom high-resolution aerial imagery with a resolution of 0.15 meters and precise terraforming to closely reflect the real-world landscape, including a lateral accuracy of 10 meters and elevation data at 0.1-meter resolution.

You will find various custom assets that enhance immersion, such as static aircraft, 3D people, and a fully modeled tower interior. The scenery supports cold and dark starts from within a detailed hangar, and includes a custom wind-T and windsock, realistic night lighting, and signage across the airfield. The add-on is compatible with both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. You can download the scenery from Flightsim.to here. As a freeware release, you are encouraged to consider supporting the developer with a donation to acknowledge their work.
