Mainbullau Airfield is a small but distinctive airfield located in Lower Franconia, Northern Bavaria. It serves the town of Miltenberg am Main and is notable for its elevated position on a mountaintop surrounded by vineyards. This unique setting gives the airfield an aircraft carrier-like feel, with its sloped runway and scenic environment. The airfield features a 675-meter runway, with landings typically performed in the direction of 23 due to the incline. Mainbullau is home to a local flying club operating a mix of single-engine aircraft and ultralights, and regularly hosts skydiving activities and flight training operations.

This freeware add-on by Snoopy7412 brings Mainbullau Airfield to Microsoft Flight Simulator using mostly default Asobo objects. Enhancements include custom ground markings, terraforming work, clutter assets, and a detailed landside area. Two inaccurately generated buildings in the vicinity of the airfield have also been remodeled to better reflect the real-world layout.
Due to the challenging topography of the area, the developer has made compromises in the terrain modeling to preserve the airfield’s signature sloped runway. While this has led to some uneven taxiway transitions, it maintains the characteristic layout of the real airfield. You will need several World Updates installed, including Canada, New Zealand, Great Britain, Germany, Northern Europe, Eastern Europe, USA, and Oceania.
