Nuremberg Airport (EDDN) — officially named Albrecht Dürer Airport — has received an update to version 0.2.0 in its ongoing alpha development by Gate17. The scenery aims to bring a far more accurate and immersive rendition of the Bavarian airport to Microsoft Flight Simulator, offering a marked improvement over the default Asobo version while still being under active development.

As Gate17’s first scenery project, the add-on focuses on refining the airport’s fundamental layout and structure using real-world reference data. The scenery currently includes an accurate taxiway layout, correct gate numbering, realistic ground markings, and custom 3D models of key structures such as the airport tower and the Ryanair and DRF Luftrettung hangars.
The latest 0.2.0 update introduces several notable improvements. A new custom 3D model of the DRF Luftrettung hangar has been added east of the control tower, while the runway profile has been further refined to reflect a more realistic slope. Runway pavement and markings have also been reworked for improved visual accuracy. Several fixes address community-reported issues, including a floating building near stand 26D, incorrect taxiway signage on Taxiway F, and missing waypoints. Additionally, the update removes bugged photogrammetry trees that previously appeared as walls near the airfield.

Looking ahead, Gate17 plans to expand the scenery with more custom 3D assets, including detailed terminal buildings, hangars, and additional airport infrastructure. A custom GSX profile is also planned for future releases to enhance ground service operations.
