HeadwindSim Updates A339X and Releases ACJ330-900neo

With version 0.4.0, HeadwinSim brings a wealth of exciting features and improvements to their Freeware A339X Project. The update includes enhanced onboard systems and most surprisingly, the introduction of the unique ACJ330-900neo aircraft. HeadwinSim introduces the ACJ330-900neo as a second aircraft option. This addition is particularly noteworthy as the ACJ330-900neo has yet to be purchased by any real-world operators. With a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) of 251 tons and a passenger capacity of 90, the ACJ330-900neo is built to emulate the specialized requirements of government operations. Although this version is highly experimental, it is based on planned specifications and data.

Notable enhancements include the addition of the First-Officer EFB flyPad, glass reflections on screens, improved MCP text color, and the integration of SATCOM features via the EFB. Additionally, pilot avatars now display correctly, and landing gear animations have been fixed for improved third-party compatibility. The lights and effects have been updated, with the pedestal integrated light accurately relocated. To further enhance the authenticity of the A330-900neo, HeadwinSim has updated the engine sound to match the RR Trent engines. The flight control values and speed calculations have been updated to match A330 specifications accurately. Fuel predictions have been refined, and the MCDU systems have been expanded to include ACARS, SATCOM, CMS, ACMS, and FM1 functionalities.

While HeadwinSim strives for continuous improvement, they have temporarily suspended the ability to install or update their public development build. This decision was made to focus on significant refactoring processes that may otherwise affect the user experience and increase support requests. The team is diligently working to address these issues and intends to reinstate this feature in the near future.
