KiwiFlightSim Releases Hokitika Airport in New Zealand

Hokitika Airport serves as an important aviation hub for New Zealand’s West Coast, connecting the rugged region with daily flights to Christchurch. Located near the Southern Alps, Hokitika is also home to Precision Helicopters, known for their thrilling scenic flights over the nearby glaciers and mountainous terrain. With their first payware release, KiwiFlightSim now brings Hokitika Airport to Microsoft Flight Simulator in highly detailed fashion.

Their version of Hokitika Airport features buildings, including both the interior and exterior of the terminal, along with custom 3D models of surrounding structures and ground servicing equipment. Special attention has been given to ground textures and markings, such as hand-crafted apron details, realistic taxiway lights, and even illuminated windsocks to ensure an authentic flying environment.

From the towering mountains of the Southern Alps to the expansive coastline, the environment is designed to reflect the real-world beauty of Hokitika, making this add-on an excellent option for both fixed-wing and helicopter pilots.

The scenery around the airport itself is enhanced with high-resolution aerial imagery (30cm resolution).  Additional features such as working helicopter dolly pads and custom taxiway signage add even more depth to the realism.

Available for $9.99 USD (excluding VAT), this 362MB download expands to a 1.0GB installation size and is now available on Flightsim.to.
