Menorca Airport (LEMH) serves as the main aviation gateway to the Balearic island of Menorca, Spain. Known for its seasonal traffic and Mediterranean holiday routes, the airport sees a mix of European low-cost carriers, charter flights, and general aviation. A new freeware release from developer Chak991 aims to enhance Menorca Airport with updated visuals and custom elements, and is now ➡️ available on Flightsim.to.
The add-on focuses primarily on improving the visual fidelity of the airport environment. One of the most noticeable upgrades comes from revised ground textures and markings, which adjust the look of aprons and taxiways to better reflect the real-world layout. These changes help align parking stands and operational areas more closely with what pilots would expect when flying into the island’s main airport. Lighting has also received attention in this release. Centerline and edge lighting have been added or adjusted to improve taxiway visibility, which can make night operations and low-visibility conditions more realistic.
Several custom 3D models have been introduced as part of the scenery package. The airport tower, apron lighting structures, and additional airport buildings have been recreated to replace or improve default simulator assets. The main terminal building is also included as a custom model, and it supports exploration in ego perspective, allowing you to walk inside the terminal area within the simulator.
The developer notes that the project is still evolving. Some areas of the airport environment, particularly regions behind the airport perimeter, have not yet been fully edited. Future updates may expand the coverage to include those surroundings. As with many community-driven freeware projects, the developer also invites feedback and suggestions from the community in order to refine the scenery over time.
Installation follows the typical Microsoft Flight Simulator freeware process. After downloading the package, you simply extract the files and place the folder into your Community directory.
