New Freeware: Van's RV-4 Released

The first version of the Van's RV-4 has been released. This initial release, described as a work in progress by its creator deejing, is now available. The Van's RV-4 is a homebuilt aircraft designed for two people, featuring a tandem seating configuration with the pilot in the front. It is known for its compact design and is supplied in kit form by Van's Aircraft in the real world. The RV-4 is powered typically by a Lycoming O-320 or O-360 engine, which propels it with a fixed-pitch or constant-speed propeller, providing a balance of efficiency and performance suitable for a range of flying activities, from cross-country trips to basic aerobatics.

The Microsoft Flight Simulator rendition utilizes default assets and textures from Asobo, akin to the RV-7, which means certain details and rivets may not be present in this initial version. The developer has communicated a commitment to continue working on the model to add more details in future updates.

The aircraft is equipped with an O-360 engine and a fixed-pitch propeller. It incorporates sound and some textures from the Cap10 and is intended for entertainment purposes and does not aim to replicate all aspects of real-life flight dynamics or systems.

A paint kit is anticipated to be released soon. The Van's RV-4 mod is now available on Flightsim.to for users looking to expand their flight simulation experience with new aircraft.
