New Ishigaki Airport - Japan Freeware Released

New Ishigaki Airport, also branded as Painushima Ishigaki Airport, is a regional airport located in the Shiraho district of Ishigaki, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. It connects the Ishigaki island to major cities in Japan as well as destinations throughout Okinawa Prefecture and the Yaeyama Islands. New Ishigaki Airport was built to replace Ishigaki Airport, which with a shorter runway of only 1,500 metres (4,900 ft), could not accommodate larger jets. The freeware crafted by keisim is now available on Flightsim.to.

Operations at the old Ishigaki Airport ceased at midnight on March 6, 2013, and New Ishigaki Airport opened on thereafter. As the southernmost airport in Japan with scheduled flights, New Ishigaki Airport plays a pivotal role in the region's air transport. One of the standout features of the New Ishigaki Airport is the inclusion of both domestic and international terminals, each designed to reflect their real-world counterparts.

The control tower and cargo terminal are crafted with precision, and the New Ishigaki Airport includes a detailed airport fire station, while the presence of the Japan Coast Guard office and hangar add another layer of realism. The approach light bridge is another key feature. This, along with the comprehensive inclusion of radar and other airport facilities, contribute to the authenticity of the overall airport layout.
