TriTriSim has released ⭐ TFX Emergency Effects, a new freeware add-on now available on Flightsim.to, which brings a wide range of emergency-related visual effects to Microsoft Flight Simulator. Designed to simulate elements typically absent from the base simulator, TFX introduces visuals such as aircraft fires, electrical sparks, water splashes, and crash animations. The package is compatible with both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 version, and supports a wide selection of aircraft.

The core purpose of TFX is to improve the simulation of emergency scenarios by visually representing events like crash landings, hard touchdowns, engine fires, or gear collapses. These effects aim to add immersion during failure training or scripted scenarios by offering visual cues that respond dynamically to aircraft conditions. The add-on supports both native and third-party aircraft, and the development team plans to expand compatibility and features through future updates. TFX includes two main components that must be installed: the base package and a material package. Together, they provide the core effect assets needed for the add-on to function. After installation, you can choose specific aircraft for which you want the TFX effects enabled. This modular system allows for targeted installation, so you can customize which aircraft in your hangar will use the emergency effects.
To install TFX, you’ll need to download the installer from Flightsim.to. The installer will attempt to detect your simulator’s Community folder automatically. If it doesn’t, you’ll be prompted to select the correct folder paths manually. Once the folders are set correctly, the base and material packages can be installed. The material package is approximately 1.4 GB in size and may take some time to download, as it pulls directly from GitHub. Afterward, you can choose the aircraft you want to enable with TFX effects using the options provided in the installer.

The add-on is still in open beta, and the developers advise that bugs and compatibility issues may occur. For ongoing support, feedback, and update notifications, you are encouraged to join the TFX Discord server. TFX is completely free to download and use. There are no subscriptions, paywalls, or locked features. However, if you find the add-on useful and wish to support its continued development, donations are accepted via the developer’s Ko-fi page. You can download the current beta release of TFX Emergency Effects from its official page on ⭐ Flightsim.to.
