ProjectFlightSim Updates Pittsburgh International Airport

ProjectFlightSim, known for their impressive flight simulation sceneries, has recently released update V1.4 for the Pittsburgh International Airport (KPIT). The most recent version includes a revamp of the Terminal Wings and Tower. Previous updates also brought significant refinements. Version 1.3 saw a rework of the fire station, while Version 1.2 added more textures to the terminal area along with minor reworks. Update Version 1.1 fixed major terraforming issues from the original scenery add-on.

Pittsburgh International Airport, IATA code PIT and ICAO code KPIT, serves as a civil-military international airport for the Greater Pittsburgh Region as well as adjacent areas in West Virginia and Ohio. Located about 10 miles west of downtown Pittsburgh, it is operated by the Allegheny County Airport Authority. With four runways and spanning over 10,000 acres, KPIT is an impressive airport, and ProjectFlightSim has taken up the task of portraying it in all its size and complexity.

The airfield includes realistic static models of FedEx A300, Southwest 737, American 737, and Delta A320, along with custom-modeled Terminal Building with real gate designations. The Air Force Reserve Base and the Air National Guard Base have also been modeled, as have the middle hangar, the tower, fuel, and de-ice areas. Moreover, the cargo and equipment areas have been populated, and new models for de-icing and plow trucks have been added. The lighting concept has also been enhanced, notably the taxiway lighting.
