A new freeware scenery for 👉 RAF Valley in North Wales is now available for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The airfield created by Nattani represents one of the Royal Air Force’s primary training bases and adds another detailed military location to the simulator’s growing collection of community-built airports. Located on the island of Anglesey, RAF Valley plays an important role in the RAF’s fast-jet training pipeline. The base is home to the Hawk T2 advanced jet trainer operated by No. IV Squadron and No. 25 Squadron, which prepare pilots for frontline aircraft such as the Typhoon and F-35.
The location is well suited for military training flights, coastal navigation, and low-level flying across North Wales and the Irish Sea. This freeware scenery builds upon the earlier RAF Valley project originally created by Skell300 and Superspud, which has now been passed on to a new developer for further development and expansion. Community Creator Nattani has introduced additional custom models and airfield objects designed to improve the overall representation of the base within Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Several static aircraft have been added to the scenery, including Hawk T2 trainers, Texan aircraft, Jupiter helicopters, as well as Typhoon and F-35B models positioned around the airfield. The Hawk model is based on Rick Piper’s original work and has been adapted for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Additional objects such as crash barriers, fencing, and other airfield equipment help create a more recognizable RAF environment.
The runway and ground elements have also been revised to better match the real airfield. Runway textures and markings have been adjusted, while the PAPI lights and the ILS for runway 13 have been corrected to align more closely with real-world data. Airfield lighting has also been updated, including emissive runway distance markers that improve night operations.

Some airport buildings have been recreated by DeadJen to better represent the structures found at Valley. The ground layout and satellite imagery were also updated with assistance from community contributor NickB. The scenery includes dynamic crash barriers at the ends of the runways which change depending on wind direcand the runway in use.
If you enjoy military aviation or training flights around the UK, RAF Valley offers a distinctive RAF airbase environment. You can download the scenery 👉 for free on Flightsim.to.
