Universal Announcer: New Tool Brings Cabin Announcements to Every Aircraft

A new freeware utility called Universal Announcer, developed by community member fearlessfrog, is enabling realistic cabin announcements across any aircraft type. Released on July 11 and recently updated to version 0.0.9, the application leverages SimConnect to detect critical flight phases — such as boarding, takeoff, cruise, descent, and landing — and plays corresponding audio clips originally created for the Fenix A320. Unlike add‑ons tied to specific aircraft, Universal Announcer is aircraft‑agnostic, capable of playing customizable announcements for A319, A320, A321, B737, helicopters and more, depending on the user’s sound library. It supports time‑of‑day variations (morning, evening, night), airline‑specific folders (e.g., UAL, BAW, DAL), and even offers system tray integration for quick volume control and manual overrides.

With the 0.0.7 update, Universal Announcer introduced integrations with Navigraph SimBrief — automatically applying airline and aircraft type based on the user’s latest flight plan — and GSX Pro, which now triggers announcements during boarding and refueling phases. While Universal Announcer itself does not include audio files, it is compatible with existing Fenix sound packs and community‑created collections.

Universal Announcer is available as a ⭐️ free download on Flightsim.to and GitHub. Users need only supply compatible OGG files — either from the Fenix installation or community sound packs — and run the application alongside MSFS. Recent updates are streamlined to reduce file‑validation delays and simplify setup.

Please note: Flightsim.to currently prohibits the uploading of cabin announcement or sound pack files on the platform. This rule remains in effect while the team evaluates future policy changes, so users should not upload any cabin announcements to the platform in the meantime.
