Volanta is now available for public use - ORBX's Flight Tracker

Volanta is an easy-to-use smart flight tracker that integrates all your flight data across all major sims. It's clean, easy-to-use interface is to make the big difference. ORBX has been lately working on a personal flight tracking app for Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, Prepar3D and FSX - it's called Volanta. As there is already similar software available, for example SimToolkitPro or projectFLY, Volanta is marketed as "giving you more reasons to fly". It's clean, easy-to-use interface is to make the big difference, alongside with many nice-to-have features, making Volanta almost a "must-have" tool. After months of closed beta testing, Volanta has been officially launched a few days ago, on January 30th 2021. Volanta is free to download and use, but there will also be few premium features that will require payment.

Volanta is mainly meant to be a flight tracker with several additional features, listed below.

The whole user experience at Volanta is built using the map as a base. Almost all pages include a beautiful, full-screen map. Using GPU rendering technology, Volanta can show every airport, every waypoint, every airway, and every flight all at once, smoothly. At higher zoom levels, more details are progressively added to the data and the underlying map itself. This keeps the map less cluttered and easier to digest.

When flying online, or with friends, it’s important to know where they are: Volanta aggregates live data for VATSIM, IVAO, PilotEdge and FSCloud. This is displayed in one integrated map. This aggregated flight data also allows you to import network flights that you did not fly on Volanta. Volanta also displays navigation data on the map, as they have partnered with Navigraph. If you have a Navigraph subscription, Volanta can show you data from the latest AIRAC cycle. If not, you’ll be shown data that is slightly out of date. Flight tracking with Volanta works automatically with no need to setup various things first. For the developers it was important to let users fly longer than to deal with paperwork. Once installed, Volanta will begin tracking your flight, capture your aircraft type and registration. Besides of this tracking functionality, you are able to share flights, take part in various challenges around the world and unlock badges within the app, allowing you to collect personal achievements and some nice insights of your flying behaviour.
