Vortex Scenery has released a new rendition of Isiolo International Airport (HKIS) for Microsoft Flight Simulator. It brings one of Kenya’s most recent aviation developments into the virtual world. The airport, located between Isiolo and Meru counties, was constructed to boost economic growth and tourism in the country’s northern region. Opened for operations in 2017, Isiolo serves as a key gateway to destinations such as Samburu and the Mount Kenya region.

Vortex Scenery has recreated the terminal and airport environment using custom-made 3D models and added dynamic elements such as moving people and realistic night lighting. The result is a detailed and vibrant depiction of a relatively underrepresented airport in flight simulation. To take full advantage of the scenery, several external libraries are required. These include commonly used assets such as Windy Things, the Superspud Airport Asset Library, and the EDHK Lights Pack, alongside regional object and vegetation libraries by EthnicFS. These additions enable features such as animated humans, flags, and environmental clutter that help bring the airport to life.

Vortex Scenery continues to focus on African airports that add diversity and regional flavor to Microsoft Flight Simulator’s global environment. Isiolo International complements other Kenyan and East African sceneries available on Flightsim.to. The scenery is available now as a ➡️ free download on Flightsim.to.
