After Japan, the US and the UK & Ireland, France & the Benelux have been overhauled in the latest world update for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The fourth World Update, featuring France & the Benelux, has been released - Version 220.127.116.11 . This update includes some handcrafted airports, photogrammetry for several cities and a plethora of new points of interests all across France, Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands. We will quickly go over some things to keep in mind when updating the game regarding your addons. As always, the YouTube launch trailer can be found here.
IMPORTANT: As with the previous 3 world updates, the new content won't be available by default. You'll have to go to the in-game marketplace and "purchase" the content (for free) after which you'll be able to download the content. Once purchased, you can find the content via the in-game content manager.
Do I need to do anything with add-ons in the community folder?
As always, it is recommended to move your community folder before starting the game after the new update. While most addons won't cause an issue if you leave them in your community folder, you might want to consider removing the addons temporarily. Also note that any addons that included scenery for France, Luxembourg, Belgium or the Netherlands might conflict with the new world update, it is advised to remove any scenery located in these countries first and then seeing (one by one) whether they cause any conflicts with the new update.
What is the file size of the update?
The main app update is approximately 470 MB and the downloadable content in-game is approximately 23 GB. The download size may very depending on what version of the game you have purchased. The World Update IV: France & Benelux package in the marketplace is approximately 5 GB.
